The Christmas Story

C.S. Lewis, in the Chronicles of Narnia wrote:  “A stable once held something inside that was bigger than our whole world!”  He’s right.  It was Jesus Christ, Immanuel, God with us.

You have just watched the Christmas story cast in a modern setting.  Why such a setting?  Because we wanted you to feel the emotions of that first Christmas.  We wanted you to see that Jesus Christ is as relevant today as He was 2000 years ago.

20 centuries have come and gone and yet today Jesus Christ is still THE central figure of the human race.   On our calendars His birth divides history into 2 eras.  His life has furnished the theme for more songs, books, poems and paintings than any other person or event in History.

It is no exaggeration to say that of all the armies that have ever marched, of all the navies that have ever sailed, of all the governments that have ever sat, and of all the kings that have ever reigned, put all together have not affected and changed the lives of mankind as much as this one solitary life!

These Magi, these wise men, were led in the most majestic of ways to the most gloriously paradoxical event in human history –

           - to witness diety tied to an unbilical cord
           - the Great I AM reduced to gurgling sounds
           - eyes that have seen everything straining to focus to see something!

Breathtaking isn’t it!  What else could they do but humbly bow and present their gifts at such a sight on such a holy night.

But what do you suppose these wise men hoped to find that night?  Was it just another king?

I don’t think so.  There were plenty of kings to rule at that time.  Another birth of another King to a politicallly insignificant land would hardly have been worth a second glance, let alone a long journey.  No, they indeed had come to realize that this one would truly be the King of Kings.

They saw that this coming King could do what no other before or since could do:

          - cleanse them of sin
          - heal their souls
          - bring them peace with God
          - and make them a part of a kingdom that would never end.

And so the wise men embraced Jesus as their King.  And if you will embrace Him as your king today, you too will find Him to be the healer of your heart, the fulfillment of your life and the answer for your soul’s thirst for God.

You can receive Him right now through prayer!  Prayer is simply talking with God.  I would like to lead you in a prayer of invitation.  If you want to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and King then make this prayer your own.

Dear God - I know that I am a sinner and that my sins have separated me from you.  But You sent your son, Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary to die on the cross for my sins and be raised on the third day.

So, right now I receive Jesus as my Savior and King.  Thank you for coming into my life, forgiving me and accepting me as your child.  From this moment on, make me the kind of person you want me to be.

If you prayed to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior or if you want to rededicate your life to the Lord or perhaps you simply want some more information so you can make an intelligent decision about Jesus Christ, then please fill out this form and we will have someone contact you to help you.

May God richly bless you.
