A Family that Grows Together

Join in to develop new and/or strengthen existing relationships through Community Life Groups (CLG). CLG's edify each other, encourage growth, and strive to maintain an outward focus while applying biblical teaching and principles in their real-world daily lives.

Community Life Groups (CLG's) meet during the Spring and Fall. 

All groups start the week of January 31st and will meet up through the 1st week of May.

Connecting, Living, and Growing

BCBC CLG’s are designed to develop new and strengthen existing bonds through Christian fellowship.

We focus on:

Simply put: Building relationships through Christian fellowship to grow our faith and reach out to our community.

BCBC Community Life Groups

Group #1: Gospel for Everyday Life
Tuesdays at 6:30 pm

Contact the Samperi’s for discussing childcare needs

This group gathers and connects through discussion from the sermons as a launching pad and will be integrating material for our Commissioned Ambassadors in Christ Workshop. Also, they enjoy all aspects of CLG Ministry in Bible Study, Fellowship, Prayer, Outreach, and Service.

Leaders: Blake and Ashley Samperi, email:   - They have been married for 11 years with four children and now a new baby girl making 5 total. They enjoy family activities with others and love spending time at the beach.  Blake and Ashley love small group environment and discipleship.

Group #2: Young Adults (ages 18-25) - DIVE

BCBC Barn & Various Places

This is an ongoing Christian community group for young adults with Brice’s Creek Bible Church. DIVE is a peer-led group under the leadership of Patrick Lebo. They gather weekly to seek God together and to live out our identity in Christ with intentionality and passion. Furthermore, the group enjoys many fellowship opportunities investing in community and outreach.

Patrick Lebo, email:   Patrick has now led the young adults for two-plus years.  We are blessed and grateful to have him and his leadership in this capacity for kingdom growth seeking to equip and minister to our young adults.

Group #3: Outreach Focused Group  - H20
Fridays at 6:30 pm
Location is TBD

This group will be using the Right Now Media resource on great material by Kyle Idleman called H2O.

H2O is a seven-week experience designed to create a safe atmosphere where people are comfortable considering the person of Jesus Christ. This creative newly re-released tool meets an ancient need: sharing the truth of Jesus Christ through relationships and community. H2O transforms lives by feeding the mind, moving the heart, and stimulating the senses.

Leaders: John and Christine Fordham, married for 30 years and enjoy outdoor activities, and campsite-like gatherings. Co-Leaders: David and Alisa Dear, email:   – They have been married 12 years and they have their own laser-engraving business and enjoy being able to work from home.  In their downtime, they enjoy relaxing on the beach, biking, kayaking, visiting parks and museums, and exploring God’s creation.

Group #4: Life Support
Wednesdays at 6:30 pm
Heart of Havelock/Cherry Point - Belltown Road

This group focuses on strengthening bonds with fellow believers to create a support group with meaningful fellowship and a deep sense of belonging. We use our loving forum for various Right Now media Bible study subjects and discussion to become more Christlike in every aspect of our lives. We believe that we glorify God when we are the hands and feet of Jesus and strive to equip each member to practice service to one another and to our community.  No childcare offered.

Leaders: Joe and Denise Cornwall, email:  Joe and Denise are very active in their family and in the Havelock community.  They love cooking and spending time with their 10 grandchildren. Joe enjoys woodworking so much so that he turned it into a plaque business after retiring from the Marine Corps. Denise is passionate about family ministry and has owned a Mary Kay business for 21 years.  They love connecting and serving with their CLG fellowship members.

Group #5: Prayer Focused Group
Wednesdays at 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Host Home is Betty Jo Jones located in New Bern in the Colonial Heights Neighborhood off of Trent Road.

Join us in participating in a dedicated time of prayer. This group meets to pray for current events, needs of the body, BCBC families, BCBC ministries, and each other.  Further, the group enjoys fellowship in ministering to each other and serving the body.

Leader: Pastor Barry, our Senior Pastor,   - Married to Kim, and they have two adult children. Their son is recently married and works with Polaris, an organization combatting human trafficking that lobbies for legislation on Capitol Hill, and their daughter works for a nonprofit promoting organization with their stories. Barry and Kim enjoy family activities, fitness, and enjoy their two pets.

Group #6: Adult Group - The Commissioned Ambassador IN Christ Workshop
Wednesdays at 7 pm
Longleaf Pines Area

Does the word "Evangelism" trigger a negative reaction in your being like grabbing a live wire?  Do you cringe a little bit with guilt or shame?  In this workshop, you will discover the beauty of partnering with the Holy Spirit to reach those in your area of influence with the Truth and Love of Christ. You will discover that if we will do the natural you will experience watching God do the supernatural right before your eyes. Never again will you experience dread from that word! The GOOD NEWS is always GOOD NEWS!

Leader: Steve Elliot at . Steve is married to Christine and they have three adult sons.  They enjoy outdoor activities and sharing Christ with others.

Group #7: Connecting Spot (Virtually) / New Believer’s Connection Time with Biblical Foundations

This group will be gathering and connecting through a 5-sessions study material called The Beginning: First Steps for New Disciples.  Join us and tell others. This is a great way to jump more into God’s Word for building foundations of following Jesus.

Leader: Pastor Jud, 252-675-3937. Jud is married to Tara for 20 years and has 3 grown kids: the youngest is a junior in HS.  They enjoy time with family, movies, and fellowship activities.

Group #8: Acts 4:13 Adult Group
11 am on Sundays

Acts 4:13 resonates with this group because of the desired outcome from digging into God’s Word to implement biblical principles into their daily lives as well as enjoying fellowship opportunities and ministering the Gospel in this community.  “Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13, NASB).

Leaders: Ken Newlon - Ken is married to Cheryl and they have two adult daughters. One daughter is recently married and their other daughter attending college.  Ken, enjoys woodworking and Cheryl enjoys many various creative crafting per her talents.


Group #9: Women’s Group -Kitchen Table Bible Study
Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Come gather around the kitchen table on Tuesday mornings as we look into God’s Word and encourage one another. Our goal is to help connect with God and each other to grow in the Lord. This spring, we will be diving into the book of John drawing from Tony Evans as a source from BCBC’s Right Now Media resource.

Leader: Kim Teague, email:  Kim is married to Barry, and they have an adult daughter, son, and daughter-in-law. Kim enjoys writing and walking with Barry along with their dogs.

Group #10: Women’s Group
Tuesdays 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Lebo Home

We are a group of ladies of a wide range of ages that have a desire to grow stronger in our relationship to the Lord as we grow closer to each other through prayer, fellowship, and the study of God’s Word. We meet weekly to share our thoughts on the study for the week. We also enjoy a light meal together twice a month before beginning the night’s discussion. This spring we will be studying God’s Word through a video series by Jennifer Rothschild called Walking by Faith.

Leader: Lora Lebo . Lora has been married to Marty for 32 years. They share 3 adult sons and two daughters-in-law. Lora loves to spend time with friends doing God’s work together. She is also an avid reader and enjoys taking long walks.

Group #11: Women’s Group
Wednesdays 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Howry Home

Join us on Wednesday evenings for a special time of sharing, digging deeper into the Word of God, and encouraging each other in our spiritual journey.  We seek to “do life together,” as we build relationships and apply God’s Word to our lives.  In this season, we will be going through a study on Elijah by Priscilla Shirer and discovering how we can have a “bold and fiery faith.”  Also, here is some more information about the study,  “Journey through the life and times of the prophet Elijah to discover how the fire on Mount Carmel was forged in the valley of famine. And how the emboldened, fiery faith you desire is being fashioned by God in your life right now.” 

Leader: Tara Howry, email: – Tara is married to Jud, our Community Life Pastor, and has a desire to minister in women’s lives for transformation by Christ’s love and dive deeper in spiritual formation for spiritual growth.  She is a wife, mother, and professional educator. She has three children: the oldest son now married, a college-aged daughter and the youngest son is a senior in high school.

Group #12: Women’s Group
Thursday evenings, 6 pm - 8 pm
Meet at BCBC

This is a group of ladies that study God's Word and encourage each other. Join us on Thursday evenings for a time to explore all God has for us. We enjoy spending time discussing biblical topics for current application in our lives and encouraging each other to build relationships with other women. Our study this spring is called PERFECT LOVE - Pursuing Intimacy with Christ  a study on Song of Solomon” by Lisa Harper from BCBC’s Right Now Media.  Join us in our desire to bless the Lord and each other.   

Leader: Valerie Beck ( 252-916-5744).  Val is married to Larry Beck.  They enjoy exercise, travel, and entertainment activities.


Group #13: Men’s Group - Bible Study
1st and 3rd Mondays at 6 pm
Meet at BCBC Barn

Join us on 1st and 3rd Monday evenings for a time of reading God’s Word. We spend time encouraging each other while we build relationships with other men and applying God’s Way into our lives. Join us in our desire to grow closer to God and each other. No pre-requisite to attend.

Group #14: Men’s Group
Wednesdays at 6:30 pm
Meet at BCBC Barn

Join us on Wednesday evenings for a time to encourage each other as we study God’s Word in Revelations using resources from Tony Evans and David Jeremiah. We spend time immersed in God’s Word for application into our daily lives. We encourage each other to grow closer to God, and each other to be the men God made us to be. 

Leader: Mike Black, married to Camille and has an adult daughter. Mike enjoys mentoring men and encouraging people in their work environments to share God’s love in and watch God’s power, provisions, and many more blessings.

Group #15: Men’s Group - Coffee Time
Tuesdays, 6 am to 7 am
Business Park in Havelock on Belltown Road, 253 in the Complex

Join us for a time to study God’s Word. We spend time encouraging each other in our daily life, woes and struggles to build one another up and apply God’s Word into our lives. Join us in our desire to grow closer to God and each other.

Group #16: Men’s Group
Wednesdays at 7:30 pm

Do you have a clear and compelling vision of what it really means for you to be the man God created you to be? Join with other men to learn the principles of authentic biblical manhood and encourage each other to follow Jesus. Their study focus is from Right Now Media material that encourages growth in leadership for every area of life.

Leader:  RJ Wojtylak at . RJ is married to Bri and they have 4 boys!  RJ and Bri both work in the collegiate realm of academia.  They enjoy family events, travel, Disney World and RJ enjoys cooking amazing dishes.

Co-Lead: Jonathan Fahey, Jonathan is married to Amanda and they have 3 sons ranging kindergarten to junior high. He enjoys golf, being on BCBC Missions team and living out the Gospel in his sphere of influence.

Group #17: Men’s Group - Coffee Time
Fridays, 7:30 am to 8:30 am

Join us on Thursday morning sharing in God’s Word from the week’s reading. We spend time encouraging each other while we build relationships with other men and apply God’s Way into our lives.  Join in the real-time fellowship growing relationship with the Lord and each other.  No pre-requisite to attend.
