BCBC Hurricane Recovery Workday
Dear Body at BCBC,
We are here to help, so let me get straight to the point. I have three things for you to pay special attention to.
- We will be meeting at the church at 8:00am on Saturday (9/22) for a workday. Another church is coming in from Blacksburg, VA (my daughter’s church) to work all day Saturday with us and Sunday morning (for Sunday, we’ll work from 8-10am and come back to church in our work clothes for a 10:50am service only!). We ask that you register below if you will be able to work that day. We will need all kinds of hands and will primarily focus on debris cleanup utilizing rakes, wheelbarrows, chainsaws, etc.
- We will focus on various areas in the community and we are trying to get coordinators for those areas (New Bern, Havelock, Brice’s Creek, Newport, other). However, we want to make sure we are helping those in the body who are in need. Therefore, we are asking that if you need help on Saturday or if you know any neighbors in need, please respond below as well to let us know.
- Finally, we will need housing for the 10-15 young people coming from Blacksburg. They will get in late Friday night and need housing for Friday and Saturday night. They will need a warm meal for Saturday night. They plan to work through Sunday morning (as part of their church service project) and then head back. If you have space please let us know via the sign up below of how many you would be able to house.
What an opportunity before us. Let us work together, serve together, fellowship together, and worship together. What a special weekend is before us!
